White Rock Lake Weekly January 4 – 10, 2013

In the spirit of the season, East Dallas’ St. Mark’s Baptist Church held their third annual Christmas Breakfast celebration and Turkey giveaway Saturday, December 22nd. Vickery Wholesale Greenhouse their loyal clients and local business owners sponsored the extraordinary gathering.

In the crisp, clear morning, neighbors were greeted with an amazing smell of freshly brewed coffee and a heavenly aroma of bacon, sausage, eggs and warm buttered toast filled the air.

Despite the economic distress many currently find themselves in, the event was a huge success, thanks to those who kept giving and giving generous donations of food, toys and funds, to ensure that our yearly event was made possible. Mr. Ricky Loftis and Ms. Shawn Busari organized the event, their goal was to help as many seniors as possible, as you know, more of our senior citizens struggle on extremely small, fixed incomes and it was very important that we extend these blessings to them. A warm breakfast and turkey with all the fixings was delivered by volunteers to the elderly who were unable to attend the event.

Because of the extraordinary kindness and generosity expressed by super “big hearts” of citizens and business’ like Vickery Wholesale Greenhouse, their clients, local East Dallas business owners and members of the St. Mark’s Baptist Church, Christmas was a joyous and happy occasion for many seniors and families in the community. A humble thank you to our volunteers aka “Santa’s elves” who worked so hard and had so much energy, their commitment was boundless. They are miracle elves who cooked and served a scrumptious meal.

A heartfelt, warm and immense thanks to all who gave to this wonderful event during the 2012 Christmas Season, named and unnamed, we thank you all for brining help and smiles to so many families, young children and our young at heart senior citizens.

May warm, special memories brighten your New Year, and may the wonder of Christmas be with you forever.
