Several home and business owners in Dallas are fighting to keep their property.

The Dallas Indepenent School District is trying to buy several homes and a business in the Jubilee Park community to make room to rebuild an OM Roberts Elementary School.

The owner of Vickery Wholesale Greenhouse said the district is not offering him enough money for his business.  Pat Berry said he was offered $630,000 by the district, but estimates it would cost him $4 million to rebuild his warehouse.

"This is more than just building," Berry said. "Most of my employees have been with me 25 and 30 years and it's kind of been our home."

The district hopes to begin rebuilding the school in 2012.

Property owners in the area are now seeking legal representation.
