From Renovation to Demolition

Millions of YOUR tax dollars

were spent to renovate O.M. Roberts just a few short years ago

And Millions of YOUR tax dollars are NOW being spent to demolish the newly renovated historical school

DISD has still failed to give an answer as to why it spent $2.6 million dollars of taxpayer money to renovate the historical

O.M. Roberts school, only to now demolish it.

And…Along with the reckless demolition…DISD seized (stole) homes…. our community has fallen victim to DISD's unstable plans and we have lost a historic school, neighbors and friends. This tragedy could happen at any time to anyone's community, but it didn't have to be this way.

Livelihoods have been destroyed as many families have been ruthlessly uprooted from their homes and businesses.  DISD has been behind the carnage of clearing out a neighborhood piece by piece, brick by brick.  First, DISD lurked through the neighborhood using eminent domain lawsuits as a guise, and now today it is demolishing the newly renovated school and every vacant home left in the aftermath of its lawsuits.  For the remaining families whose homes have been spared, the horror only continues.  DISD has been busy transforming its newly "acquired" property into parking lots and is placing them right in-between the remaining homes.  In the meantime, DISD has still failed to give an answer as to why it spent $2.6 million dollars of taxpayer money to renovate the historical O.M. Roberts school, only to now demolish it.  This neighborhood is being destroyed – piece by piece, brick by brick – all by the decisions made by DISD and funded with your tax dollars

The uncertain future of the Jubilee Park community still hangs in the balance.  This has not been an easy road for our wonderful community members who love their school, homes and neighborhood.    We invite you to join the movement and help make a stand in defending the Jubilee Park Community against DISD. Concerned citizens who wish to voice their support in preserving the Jubilee Park community with homes not parking lots and toxic geo-thermal fields can contact their DISD Board member at 972-925-3700 or your State Representative and tell them to Stop Wasting our tax dollars on destroying schools and neighborhoods.
